Thanksgiving

I feel that this post is just a staple for the currently ended weekend. In any case, Thanksgiving was a time of great joy, and I hope that everyone had this experience. I personally went to Jupiter (Not the planet...) to see my cousins who I rarely see. Our family had a great time rejoicing the past year. Like most families, we have traditions such as watching the Thanksgiving day football game on the largest screen we can find, and how all of the cousins play manhunt after dinner. Does anyone else have some traditions and what did everyone else seem to do? Did anyone fly to different state, or even country? I hope everyone had a great weekend.

The Massacre which is becoming Rap

It pains me to see as to how low rappers have gone to produce a platinum hit; they do not even pay attention to the fans that enjoy the actually lyrics, and not the chorus. It was made pain-shakily-obvious to me that this was happening, when I was watching an episode of TRL. They were interviewing LL Cool J about the current state of Hip-Hop/Rap. He said that artists now-a-days are more worried about the young (female) audience rather than the older all around listener. While these so called artists gain the fame of the youth, they lose there most predominate audience of adults. I feel that this lose is just scarring Hip-Hop more and more every year. Why can't someone just state this to them?

Rhetoric Styles in High School

After our discussion in class, I have really been interested on the Rhetoric Triangle. I have recently noticed that we use this "shape" in our everyday lives. Now, we all get into arguments and all have excuses, but where do we decide to come up with them? Do we try to give the audience the "guilt trip" i.e. Pathos or do we give our parents some crazy information i.e. Logos. It is unnoticed because no-one has thought of it this way, or at least I have never seen it this way. Now, it gives me the idea that I can start practicing my Rhetoric styles much earlier on, instead of waiting for the business world. I would suggest the same for you. Just take any argument you find in school, and try to figure out what style is used. I feel that most arguments are Logos (sadly...) simply because they are the easiest to lie about and can be very bias. It is the simple fight of, "You kissed her, and she kissed him, oh-my-god! What are we going to do?" All this argument is is a bunch of facts about the night before. Simple, yes, done correctly, no. Just something to think about.

Razors

Okay, so for all the men in our 2nd period english class, that can grow facial hair, this is for you.

I have been shaving for the past 2 years and recently (about a year ago) I began to develop full facial hair. No, not the little spots around the face, almost a full beard. If you indulge yourself on asking, yes, I have "nicked" myself shaving before, and I have been through many-a-razor.

The most efficient razor brand that I have found will have to be the all-time champion, Gillette. There new technology called Fusion is an amazing razor. With 5 blades and pivots to guide it around the curves of one's face; it creates the perfect blade. Do not bother with the cheap immatations saying phrases such as, "4 blades!" or "NEW!" I would highly recommend this brand of razor to anyone in need of such precision.

Call of Duty, World at War

*C.O.D. (Call of Duty)

Not to mention the superb series of C.O.D. this latest feature has given me many hour of enjoyment. Well, since I have only purchased it today; in fact, more along the lines of two hours of enjoyment. Despite the medocur reviews, I believe C.O.D.5 still deserves a higher rating due the intense graphics and advanced war gamestyle. Call of Duty, World at War takes place in WWII along the battlefields of the Japanese Islands, parts of Russia, and the frontline in Germany. Unlike most other games genred in WWII, C.O.D.5 is mainly focused along the oriental battlefront instead of the European. I have yet to play the online, in which I am very excited to play tommorrow afternoon, but so far the storyline has had many exciting encounters, such as POW breakouts and near-to-death experiences. In an over-all rating, I would give this game, (only 2 hours in) about an 8. It is well worth the expense if you are into the war genre, and I am curious to see others view on the game. Any tips?

Favorite Shows

I love my TiVo simply because of the fact that I can record shows without any effort. From oldies like Family Guy to new favorites like Fringe and Sons of Anarchy. I'm curious to see what everyone else is watching these days. What is the common genre of choice, comedy, action, soap operas? Whats on everyone's TVs.

TiVo

I have concluded that TiVo might possibly be one of the greatest innovations of our era. Not only can it record shows without the hassle of those everyday tapes, but it can also pause, yes...pause, live TV. TiVo lets me watch my shows whenever I please and save them for later. If you do not have a TiVo, I highly suggest buying one immediately! Who can argue over such a beneficial invention? I have no need to mess around with those old-fashioned tape recorders because my TiVo is highly electronic and can manage itself. What can your recorder do?
